Our 2017-2018 Home School Calendar!

Having a whole month off in the Summer was exactly what we needed! As a general rule we are working for 6 weeks then taking 1 week off. There are a few exceptions to that because of a scheduled vacation and a few holidays. We will also take a 2 week Winter break over Christmas and 2 weeks for Spring corresponding with the Easter Holiday.

We have a 2016-2017 Schedule! If you will look further down the page I will leave last years calendar up so you can see the slight changes I made. We need more time off at Spring break and I wanted the entire month of July off instead of just 3 weeks. I worked it in though and everything is good to go calendar wise. 

**Also on a side Note----Look how much more organized I am in the look of the calendar! Just gonna pat myself on the back for a minute for that!**

*Last Year's 2016 Calendar*

This is a rough draft of our School Calendar. The start on the top left is when we started home schooling after I pulled them from public school. We are implementing a year round calendar of 6 weeks on 1 week off. Lines through a date represent a day off (notice Summer months we school for 3 days a week instead of 5) and we have 3 weeks off in the Summer and 2 over the Christmas Holiday. Our School Calendar adds up to 183 school days. "The School Code mandates a minimum of 185 days in the proposed school calendar to ensure 176 days of pupil attendance.--Illinois State Board of Education" So we are right on track while letting the kids enjoy much needed breaks while reducing Summer Learning Loss with such a long span of non learning Summer time break.
